Redwood School Update: Covid 19 Possible shift to Alert Level 2

 Dear Parents/Whanau,

I hope that this brief update finds you all fit and well.

The announcement today by the Prime Minister of what Alert Level 2 will look like has given an indication of when schools may possibly fully reopen. In the meantime we remain in Alert Level 3, these conditions for schools being in place until at least Monday 18 May.  There is much more detailed information yet to come regarding this.

An announcement as to whether the country will move to Alert Level 2 will be made by the Government on Monday 11 May. If the decision is made to move to Alert Level 2 schools will not open to all tamariki until Monday 18 May at the earliest.

We have already been planning towards fully reopening the school and as part of that planning have a timeline for reopening in place. However, we cannot implement any reopening timeline until after the Government announces we will be moving to Alert Level 2.

We will be in contact with you very soon after Monday's Alert Level announcement to update you regarding next steps for Redwood School and our tamariki. In the meantime we will continue to support you and your tamariki through distance learning until we are able to welcome all our tamariki back on site. We have really appreciated your support for your tamariki and for the school.

Keep safe, keep well, keep bubbling!

Nga mihi,
John Stackhouse.
